Erotica is what I do.
More specifically my forte is writing erotic romances. What is the difference you ask?
When I write erotic stories, I focus solely on the sexual experience. The story starts with sex and ends with sex. It is not porn. It is just my realistic take on the sexual experience between two people. I like to write short erotic stories that tend to cut to the chase and focus on the erotic experience between 2 or 3 people or 4. When I write it there is not mush dialogue and you should feel like you are watching the scene unfold right before your eyes.
However, when I write erotic romance I take those carnal yet erotic scenes and I weave a love story or sweet romance right through them. I not only focus on the sexual experience but on the people. Romance has been a part of my life for a long time now. The very first romance novel that I read was in the 6th grade and I fell in love with them.
The key difference I believe between erotic romance and a romance novel is taking things a step further and ultimately making the amazing sex an intricate part of the story. In romance novels sex is seen to only be there as an ultimate part of the culmination of the story between two people that fall in love. It is a binding of the souls that does not go into full detail.
In Erotic romance, it has all the elements of a romance novel yet not only does it go more into detail sexually, sex is one of the main parts of the story. I write my stories the way it happens in real life. Sex comes first then love on most occasions.
Would I am a write a full erotic novel without the romance element?
Probably not. I love romance and I enjoy writing romance.  It is more likely that I would stop writing erotica and focus on romance. Then again, that probably wouldn't happen either. Taking the incredible sex out of the romance to me is equivalent to taking the spices out of an incredible dish. Not to say a romance novel is bland… Not in the least. But odds are it would not be spicy enough for me.
Why do I write erotica? I knew I was destined to write romance.  When I tried I felt like all my stories were boring and lacked excitement. So I started over and began again writing freely without restraint pulling from the core of me. That’s when I realized that I was erotic writer.
Writing and erotica is a part of me. I’m pretty spicy so why shouldn't my writing be?

    We all write for similar yet different reasons. They are as personal as we are, yet we realize the commonality with communities such as WOK. To me, what refines good writing is the ring of truth. Your writing feels clean and true.

    I think every writer should write the stories they want to tell, plus it's easier to write what is a part of you. Romance and erotica are not easy to write, but your stories are funny, serious, surprising and definitely spicy. Great all the way around!

    I'm glad to have the distinction between Romance, Erotica, and Erotic Romance. I guess I hadn't thought about it before. And, you are not kidding when you say it's your forte. Your scenes are unrestrained and exciting. xoA

My Sexual Journey

My sexual journey began at a very young age. I was definitely a precocious child and began to have sexual feelings at an early age. Sex was not discussed in my family but it was definitely going on frequently. There are 9 of us and by the time I was 10 years old I already had about 5 or 6 nieces and nephews.
