        I sat in my window seat in my bedroom staring at the large pristine snowflakes falling from the sky. I watched as they landed softly on the parked cars in front of my apartment building. I was happy to see the snow. It gave me a reason to cancel plans with friends today. It was New Years Eve and everyone was getting together ready to celebrate the coming of the New Year. I usually was in the mix excited to party and make out with the cutest guy I could find. Yet after what happened with Jerry’s brother, I decided it may be time to change my ways.           I shouldn’t have gone home with him after only meeting him for a few minutes. The city was filled with the holiday spirit. So much so they decided to have a Christmas festival a week before Christmas. There was a park full of people waiting for the largest pine tree I have ever seen lit up for the first time this month. “I may not need my coat today,” my best friend Tracy said. It was the middle of December and there wasn’t any snow on the ground. The slight frost on the cars and the trees was barely enough to put me in the Christmas spirit.
